Pineapple
leather
Pineapple leather, commonly referred to as Piñatex, is a natural imitation leather made from cellulose fibres extracted from pineapple leaves. This relatively new material has shifted the fashion and upholstery industry towards more animal-friendly practices by moving away from leather made from animal skin and toward sustainable alternatives such as this.
Piñatex is an innovative, non-woven textile that is strong, light, breathable and made without the use of harmful chemicals. Not to mention it is putting the waste from an existing industry to good use; therefore, contributing to the circular economy.
Due to its eco credentials and ethical practices, we use pineapple leather to make many of our products when a leather alternative is required including apparel, bags and footwear.
